Great trainwrecks of our time – 8: Snow Patrol cover 'Teenage Kicks'

Thanks to Rapturous Solo for this.

If you click on the link above, you'll find a whole array of 'Teenage Kicks' cover versions, including KT Turnstall's horrendously overstated reading, Nouvelle Vague doing their whole Nouvelle Vague thing, Sahara Hotnights entirely missing the point of everything, Thee Headcoatees, Busted, The Racounteurs at least getting the guitar sound right, but it was these idiots that really pissed me off...

Dickheads. Here's what The Undertones actually sound like.

  1. Love (the original)! Sleater-Kinney used to play it before their set.

  4. Regardless of what the original version of any song sounds like, the idea of a cover song is for the band to offer their version of it. For anyone who has a good idea of what Snow Patrol's music sounds like, they'd respect the band's mellow version of "Teenage Kicks". So for the guy who posted this comment up, a cover version of a song doesn't have to sound EXACTLY like the original. If it sounds juss like it, even better! Other than that, good version of the song. Snow Patrol is awesome!

  5. Snow Patrol are a bunch of lightweight corporate eunocks. Just because one or two of them are from northern Ireland doesnt mean they are entitled to sully this tiumeless classic with their major label mulch. they should be on the friggin' x factor. cunts.
