Wait a second. Now I'm reading news stories on the web about this? I'll say this once, and once only, people. I'm not that interesting.
OK. Since my post yesterday, I've been in conversation with a couple of people, notably CL. The lady vehemently denies she had anything to do with anything, it was all that bastard Dave Grohl's doing and that she's going to sue the shit out of those that done wronged her and her (sob) own. Odd. Because I have it on extremely good authority that 1) Courtney owns the rights to Kurt's image and likeness etc, whereas 2) Courtney, Chris and Dave own the rights to Nirvana's music.
So, the (literally) million dollar question must be. Who sold Guitar Hero the rights to use Kurt's likeness?
Was it a) Chris, Dave and Courtney or b) Courtney?
It looks like I may owe Grohl an apology for the previous post but... ah, fuck it. Foo Fighters are heinous.
P.S. Look at the image above. I wonder if it'd be possible for Daniel Johnston's family to sue for misappropriation of his artwork? Maybe someone should let them know...
I hear that in the game Kurt says stupid things that he would have hated were he alive, such as some rapper's catchphrase and silly stuff like that. As an old-grungy type I find it quite shocking, actually. I am glad that CL is going to sue.

Or is that "authority" everyone that corrected your obvious mistake yesterday? Or did you actually know this beforehand (like everyone else does) and decided to blame Grohl anyways because you have a hate-on for the Foo Fighters?

Um, is it possible that the people who work for Rock Star just left out the part about being able to unlock the characters to Courtney, Krist and Dave? That's the part that bothers me, anyway. And Kurt always had on that Daniel Johnston t-shirt. Courtney gets a lot of crap, especially the teener Nirvana fans shouting all over the internet, "SHE KILLED KURT!" "SHE RUINED KURT!" "SHE GOT KURT HOOKED ON HEROIN!" None of them ever taking into account that most all of his lyrics were about suicide/massive depression and that he had an extensive family history of suicide. It's no wonder Court is off her rocker. I'd be off mine too if the love of my life and father of my child selfishly killed himself. And I can see why she thinks that Dave had something to do with it. He has been public about his opinion of her and what he believes her motives are. Maybe, if all three truly did not believe that the characters could be unlocked, they could all sue Rock Star.

In case you thought this was Rock BAND (it's not), that was developed by Harmonix and published by EA. Who also had nothing to do with this.
It was Courtney. She did it. She signed the contract. And she's nuts. The end.

I think what Everett doesn't want to say is that Daniel Johnston is a little bit out of his mind, so it would be diffcult for him to actually sue someone, most likely it'd need to be his family/whoever represents his interests to go through with something like that.

Yes she is insane and lots of other things, but she pulls stuff like this all the time, she sold his image and the rights and now she'll try to blame it on anyone else she can to (in her own mind) NOT look bad, AND still cash in on it while creating a huge ammount of hype for the game cause they "used Kurt's image without our consent", so people who wouldn't have heard about it, and wouldn't have giva a damn about GH5 now do because of the Kurt thing.
