This. (The convention, the blog itself and the folk who run the Australian music industry. The unquestioning acceptance of all this among my 'peers' is the most disheartening of all.) (There's a lot of blokes in that photo. Presumably females don't exist within the Australian music industry.)

My Last FM Top 20 (week 9)

This week's chart is based on this week's plays - and the position of Mr Van Zandt at the top of the pile is more a reflection that Domino were kind enough to send me seven full-length reissues the other day than any late-come conversion to bearded 70s rock. I'm not even sure how much I like him - but I sure as skanking know how I much I love The Skatalites, Theo Beckford, Terry Hall, Susan Cadogan, Rhoda Dakar and the rest of the gang.
