I received an advance copy of Teenage Fanclub's second album Bandwagonesque about the same time as Nevermind - and I played them back-to-back on the same cassette for the entire summer of 1991. And frankly, there was never any doubt in my mind as to which was my favourite.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE this. The Fannies were always the loveliest chaps to bump into on the circuit, too. Friendly, gentle, mutually appreciative. How the Byrds should have sounded, if you know what I mean....

Another top choice ET. They're one of my favourite bands EVER. Definately in the handful of bands I'd describe as pefect. Have you heard the Peel Session version of Alcoholiday? It's quite different with some incredible lyric changes x
