Well, I was thinking of posting some music from Zola Jesus - very Gothic, but with a good 'G' - especially as I've been admiring old clips of Siouxsie And The Banshees on Top Of The Pops.
But then I got diverted by the sighting of an Electrelane song: and damn, if it wasn't the same song that served as a staple of my DJ set (alongside Shock-Headed Peters' 'I Blood Brother Be') around the time I really got into DJ-ing again, with the advent of Plan B and Careless Talk Costs Lives. And damn, if it still doesn't sound as wonderful and hair-tingling as it did the first time I ever heard it. Whenever that was!
I still can't believe I never got to watch them perform it live with the choir, especially considering the number of times I got to watch Electrelane perform live, and how entwined they were with my post-Melbourne life in Brighton. (Yes, I miss those ladies.)
So, whatever. Song of the day 22.
P.S. Someday, someone really ought to release the music that I made together with Verity Susman.
P.P.S. The first time The Legend! returned to the stage in the 00s in the UK was with Emma Gaze drumming.
P.P.P.S. I still don't understand why Verity is singing, "I bet I like your underwear" on 'On Parade'.
