[...] Some sweet early live footage here. When I was teenage, I figured this to be one of the most chilling punk songs around. I’m still aspiring towards this level of intensity through my current recordings with The Deadnotes. And hell, I just posted a cover of this over here… [...]
Deborah Frost Are people actually listening to her or do they just want to see her fat jiggle? Yesterday at 10:38am
Erika Meyer I listen to her. She is a singer and an entertainer. Watching her move is part of the entertainment. (cf: Rock n' Roll 101). She's a hellova blues singer who can rock the horizontal stripes like nobody's business. Yesterday at 11:38am
Jen Stippich I watched and danced and listened! She is one amazing performer and entertainer! What a voice. We were so lucky at the Block Party to have her perform live. And wow Deborah, I'm embarrassed for you. You are a performer too! Shame! Yesterday at 11:41am
White Hotel What she said. You dislike her as a performer, fine. But you dislike her as what, a shape? Pathetic. Yesterday at 4:37pm
Chris Pugmire pure jealousy. beth is beautiful, talented, and revolutionary. Yesterday at 4:50pm
Deborah Frost You morons can't read. =I= don't dislike her in ANY way, shape or form. I was simply posing a question to which you have responded by revealing both YOUR intense prejudices and the way they so severely hinder ability to decipher a simple sentence in English. Now, if I predict correctly, you will have even MORE difficulty comprehending this statement and proceed to attack ME personally further. Perhaps you shall even create a mini-tempest. Puff yourselves up and feel GOOD, y'all! But don't talk to me about SHAME or EMBARRASSMENT. Have a nice day, kiddies.
But Deborah, why would you even bother to put that out there? Most people wouldn't have even thought of that until you posted it. I'm not going to get all psychological babble like you did and bash people even more, I just think it was unnecessary.
I've seen her perform many many times and I can tell you this was an exceptional performance. Personally I love the bands music and have been following them for many years since I first saw them as a small band out of Olympia, Wa. Dittos voice is exceptional and Brace Paine's minimalist fuzzed out guitar playing is amazing.
Chris Pugmire give me a break. you can't seriously ask a question like that in a fat-phobic culture and not expect beth's friends and fans to come to her defense. and what's your defense? condescension. everyone who doesn't get your intended meaning is a moron? wow, convincing. Yesterday at 6:45pm
Jen Stippich You are a writer, and elder statesman, Deborah, and in addition a female performer. You know the bull shit and I just would expect more from you in a public forum. No, we don't get it and no one I've posed it to “gets it”. Was it some snide insider comment to Everett? Following it up with an angry and defensive "moron" comment is just sad and beneath a woman of your abilities and talent. I am embarrassed for you. 4 hours ago
I'm with Deborah, she asked a simple, and possibly purposefully cheeky antagonising question. You all took the bait like dogfish. I watched her jiggle her flab and belt out her voice. It's an ace clip, marred only by you self righteous twats jumping on the "protect the fatties" bandwagon!
If you’re a photographer or illustrator (or other) and you see your work up here, unfairly uncredited – please contact me so I can either credit it, or take it down forthwith. I have tried to source public domain images, but it can be quite tricky.
This was one of the many stellar performances at the Capitol Hill Block Party. Beth killed it!!!
