Someone linked me to this on Facebook, thus proving that 1) I'm ridiculously easy to please and 2) My taste is way predictable.
I mean, this stuff is marvellous - like the exact middle-ground between Bikini Kill and my fearsomely competent noise sweethearts Afrirampo, only not quite so. I don't understand what's going on here whatsoever, but - as Thurston Moore oddly emailed me the other day to state - "I don't want music, I want pain". You'd shove this on a mix CD of cute pop to really piss off your lover.
Fuck, I'd go see them play live if they were nearby!

ReplyDeleteHand Hell were NZ pop (via Melbourne) + sludgy bass meets Nico. The Bites were a bit looser in places but were just as good (or maybe better) but I don't think they have their best stuff on their profile.

Love the harmonies in the duo. This is Sassy!!! from San Francisco performing at the Comet Tavern last month. They had the songs, skills, personality, matching sparkly costumes... and an amazingly big sound.
