I don't have any clear idea who Susan Boyle is, not being in tune with the masses.
I do know who Milk Kan are, however - one part Patrik Fitzgerald, one part Mike Skinner, one part Television Personalities and 10 parts bling - and I love 'em, and miss being unable to sing lustily along with such immediate classics as 'Ain't It Fucked (That You've Got To Grow Up)' and the one about missing the last bus home to some obscure part of London that I hope I never frequent.

I've always loved Milk Kan / Scrappy's stuff - ever since you dragged me down The Hope to check him out - I really believe in him and what he has to say. He's a prophet for the doomed generation or something less pithy perhaps. This link is so on the button though. Humanitarian comment on car crash TV? Despite 25 years of PC, old blighty still loves a "freak show" even if poor Ms Boyle isn't really particularly freaky in the grand scheme. Never mind, lets hope everyone got what they wanted.
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm here, I'll dig myself further in the quagmire I may have created by mentioning any "freakish" elements and aver that she has a great singing voice and quite a commanding stage presence. I'd certainly give her a Britain's Got Talent accolade, now I'm forced to do that whole competition thing which itself so intrinsically devalues the whole concept of talent. Go Boyle, go!
